WHAT’S THIS ABOUT A MOVE?
Since 2000, Curious Moon Puppets has been based in Atlanta, GA and has toured throughout the southeast. Originally founded by Evy Wright and Reay Kaplan, Evy Wright became sole owner and operator of the company in 2007. No dramatic story, Reay just needed more time for family and other projects, and she still performs for Curious Moon Puppets when her schedule allows.
In September, Evy and her family relocated to Brunswick, GA bringing the company’s headquarters and workshop with her. Curious Moon’s puppet shows were always available to schools, libraries, and festivals throughout the southeast, but now Curious Moon is also available for birthday parties in and around Savannah, Brunswick, and Jacksonville, FL.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR METRO-ATLANTA?
It means that until June we are available on a more limited basis in Atlanta. Evy is in Atlanta one weekend out of every month, Reay has limited availability in Atlanta, and we are in the process of training a new puppeteer, Bill, to perform some of our shows in metro-Atlanta. Bill’s bio will soon be available on the website. (He’s amazing!)
We sincerely apologize to anyone who finds this news disappointing. We have had a wonderful client and fan base in and around Atlanta, and we are sad to leave, but we are excited at the prospect of bringing our shows to new audiences on the coast.
